Community Outreach and Corporate Giving

Our community services include corporate-level giving. We also help our employees to contribute to programs that are important to them. From sponsor-a-child programs, tutoring, animal walks, bicycling events, holiday adopt-a-family programs, food bank volunteering, clothing donations to environment-based initiatives – the spirit of giving runs deep throughout our company.

Many of these initiatives fill a small or one-time need. Others involve ongoing commitments of time and skill. Most are profoundly important to our employees on a personal level. And they all make a positive difference in the community. The following are just a few of the many programs and organizations we support. We hope that our stories will inspire you to reach out and awaken the giving spirit that is within you.

ACS Foundation in Action

Our employees partner with several NGOs and participate in hundreds of events across the globe. Here’s a glimpse at some of our latest activities:

Promoting Gender Equality and Inclusion

The ACS Foundation has always championed the causes of equality and empowerment for women. Recently, to commemorate Women’s History Month we hosted a webinar, “HerStory: Break the Barrier.” The objective of the webinar was to inspire and encourage women to embrace their dreams, overcome roadblocks that come in their way, and elevate their voices. The panel featured Nita Sardana, VP of Community Outreach & Corporate Giving, ACS Solutions, Karen Sterk, CEO, Jeanette Rankin Women’s Scholarship Fund, Kenetha Dawkins, Senior Director IT Recruiting, ACS Solutions, Shivani Sardana Vohra, VP of Finance & Operations, ACS Solutions, Monique S Patrick COO, CDC Foundation and Divya Behl, VP of Program Management Office, Woodward. The inspirational women leaders brought along with them a wealth of life experiences and shared unique and inspiring stories. The following video features the complete recording of the webinar.

Eliminating racism, empowering women, and ensuring equality and dignity for all have always been key priorities for the ACS Foundation. Recently we hosted a special webcast “Empowering the Dream: Bridging the Digital Divide” as a part of our Black History Month initiative. The key speakers included our VP Community Outreach & Corporate Giving, Nita Sardana,  Richard Hicks, CEO & President at  Inspiredu Atlanta, & Sharmen Gowens, CEO at YWCA of Greater Atlanta. This webcast revolved around a conversation with the three C-suite individuals on how they are helping the underserved communities to achieve their American Dream. Let’s take you through the complete webinar recording in the following video:

The TGI Tech Program’s goal is to empower girls by fostering their interests, breaking barriers, and increasing confidence in the areas of science, technology, engineering, arts/design, and math (STEAM)-related fields.

It has been our privilege to be an active leader within this wonderful program since 2006. ACS Solutions provides professional mentors, tutors, and role models to inspire and inform. To date, ACS Foundation has provided more than $80K worth of scholarships and technology to deserving girls, helping them to secure a brighter future, and in some cases, becoming the first in their families to attend college.

We have organized trips to the Kennedy Space Center and allowed the girls to interact with astronauts over lunch. The program began with 50 girls and now benefits more than 650 girls in the program today.

This program is dear to the heart of Nita Sardana, our Vice President of Community Outreach and Corporate Giving. She serves as a board member of the YWCA in Atlanta. In 2014, she was honored with the YWCA Salute to Career Women of Achievement Award for her personal career success, dynamic leadership qualities, and ability to serve as a role model.

WIT is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization committed to making Georgia the state with the highest percentage of women in the STEAM workforce. The objective of Women in Technology (WIT) is to “empower girls and women to excel in science, technology, engineering, the arts, and math (STEAM), from classroom to the boardroom.”

It has been our privilege to be the title sponsor of WIT’s Women of The Year (WOTY) Awards which celebrates women in STEAM, especially those who live in Georgia and have emerged into visionaries and leaders. Additionally, a special high school girl is recognized as the Girl of The Year, a college woman with Campus Student of the Year Award, and an eligible and successful candidate for the Single Mother of The Year Award.

Following the event, ACS Solutions has pledged to contribute 10% of the incremental profit from new and existing customers in the GA market to WIT. The objective is to help women grow, innovate and lead in STEAM.

This initiative ties in with our guiding philosophy of giving back to the communities, those in which we live and operate. To know more about our association with WIT please visit Women In Technology » ACS Solutions (cloudwaysapps.com)

ACS Solutions has a longstanding association with the Feeding America campaign, which ensures that the needy and underprivileged get the nutritional food they need. ACS Foundation annually collects and delivers canned goods to the Atlanta Community Food Bank. Our associates volunteer to sort and box food to be distributed to various organizations across the U.S. to feed many families, not just the homeless. This food also goes to working-class people who may have fallen on hard times or simply can’t make ends meet.
